[StBernard] Several Killed, I-10 Shut Down

SORRENTO, La. -- A fiery wreck along Interstate 10 in Ascension Parish has
reportedly killed four people.

State police have shut down the roadway in both directions.

A spokesman for Acadian Ambulance told a Baton Rouge television that four
people are dead at the scene. The ambulance spokesman also said there are
reports of possible radioactive materials being involved in the accident.

Louisiana State Police spokesman Johnnie Brown said the agency has
dispatched a hazardous materials crew to the scene because of concerns of
"possibly radioactive materials inside some sort of medical truck."

Brown could not immediately confirm the number of fatalities.

The wreck is in the westbound lanes at mile marker 182.
