Hannan High moving to north shore

The Archdiocese of New Orleans announced today it will relocate Archbishop
Hannan High School, formerly of St. Bernard Parish, to a north shore site in
Goodbee, in western St. Tammany Parish.

While the new facility is built, the archdiocese plans to hold classes at a
temporary, modular campus in either Madisonville or Covington, which
officials expect will be used for at least two to three years.

Superintendent of Catholic Schools Rev. William Maestri said he expects the
temporary site to be ready by August, for the start of the coming school
year.

Hannan, located in Meraux, was flooded, along with most of St. Bernard
Parish, during Hurricane Katrina and has not reopened.
