[StBernard]Meeting attendance/MRGO- Is this correct?

Now, everybody is on the bandwagon to "close MRGO".  However, for years, and
I means years, the president of the St. Bernard Sportsmen's League, Mr. Pete
Savoye, and Dan Arceneaux have been campaigning with every level and branch
of government warning that if this waterway was not shut down St. Bernard
Parish would be vulnerable.
 
Nobody listened.  Since joining the organization in 1987 and having the
priviledge of being the Secretary for the last 5 years, there has not been
one meeting that the importance of closing the MRGO was not addressed.  
 
Many letters were written to the St. Bernard Parish Council, local state and
government politicians expressing the views of the St. Bernard Sportsmen's
League to close this outlet and ecological reasons why. Again nobody
listened.
 
Unfortunately, we are all suffering for deaf ears now.
