Rodriguez and Taffaro Attend State of the Union Address

Parish President Henry "Junior'' Rodriguez and Council member Craig Taffaro
Jr. attend State of the Union address in Wash., D.C.


St. Bernard Parish President Henry "Junior'' Rodriguez and Council member
Craig Taffaro Jr. are attending President Bush's State of the Union address
Tuesday night in Washington, D.C. and staying on for talks with officials of
the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the state's congressional
delegation.

Plaquemines Parish President Benny Rousselle and St. Tammany Parish
President Kevin Davis are also attending the annual State of the Union
address.

Rodriguez is "jumping at the bit'' to attend the address by the President
after the three parish presidents were invited by Louisiana's U.S. senators,
Mary Landrieu and David Vitter, according to Charles Reppel, Special
Assistant to Rodriguez.

Rodriguez "also plans to meet with Gov. Blanco, FEMA representatives and our
congressional delegation to discuss (FEMA) trailer availability, debris
removal and funding for other matters,'' Reppel said.
