Jer,

Actually the only homeowners that would be effected would be St.B. Second
it wouldn't or couldn't be a complete diversion, but rather a controlled
small one. Third, the state would be thrilled, they wouldn't have to dredge
the mouth for several months. Lastly, we could always push for a higher
level other than 9ft, why not 12? Also, having a more land beyond the violet
area would do nothing less than help and prevent this type of flooding
again- it would be the buffer zone. AND, as I said, we could always add if
any is lost in erosion. Think about it like this- If we have 50 miles of
land between us and the gulf rather than thirty, the four feet of water
would possibly never reach out homes because it would flood the 20 miles of
buffer. I mean the "statistical" or minimal things needed would have to be
worked out by the experts, but the rationale is still there to do
this...what if we didn't blow it at the ninth, but rather lower- Verrett?
make a larger buffer at that point...raise the land there to work like a
wall like in Galvestin. A 30 ft of wall of water could very well come again
and what will it take this time? Will St. B be able to handle another storm
of this magnitude?

Wendy
