Remember that SBA has said they will accept a phone call from the mortgage
company to verify the payment.

I agree with you. My husband and I got our insurance check in mid October,
with the mortgage co name on it. Being that we are first time buyers, we
paid off our mortgage because we thought we had to with the mortgage co name
on the check. Now, SBA is making it VERY difficult to get anything but
$10,000 from them. We even mention that we are in the oil spill and would
not be going back because we had two little ones. They want prrof of that,
which I already faxed them the oil spill map and letters. STILL, they do not
want to help. 
So we took a chance at calling the mortgage co again yesterday. They agreed
to send us a letter,  (for the second time) and the lady on the phone acted
like she has never heard of demand letter, so I am waiting patiently today
to see what we get. I will be surprised if we actually get a letter that SBA
will accept.
