Are you talking about a swimming pool or a decorative pool? I  can't
imaging
swimming with the fishes!>>
 
I think the point was to do something to keep down them mosquito
popluation. 
None of those pools in SBP are presently good for swimming. 
Now  I hear a tip to pour cooking oil into the pool, it forms a slick
and the 
larvae  die.
