I used to be with Bellsouth, but had switched to Cox for tv, phone and
internet and had much better service at a lower price. I contacted Cox to no
avail. All their customer service rep could say is to call a toll free
number that could tell me earliest dates for restoring phone in my
neighborhood. That phone no. is " no longer in service" as the recording
says. Their website was no help. Nothing on Katrina recovery, no one human
to email, etc.  
 
I called Bellsouth and they could only say by July 10 for my street, maybe
sooner.  I signed up for the phone service since I need a monitored burglar
alarm.
 
If Entergy and Atmos can put maps on the parish website, I don't know why
companies in the telecommunications business can't or won't do the same.
They should know the power and efficiency of the internet for current
information to provide to their customers.
 
Craig, have Bellsouth and Cox been asked to provide a link on sbpg.net and
if so, why aren't they doing it?
