Mr. Fos,

The deadline doesn't penalize anyone so it will stand and the process that
follows will help people get to a decision and help us know what the
obstacles continue to be.

Since it now appears as though there is a possibility that the FEMA flood
maps won't be out until after the March 31 deadline by which we are to
inform the Parish of our intents with regards the fate of our
houses/structures, is it possible that this deadline can be extended to at
least coincide with the date the FEMA maps are published? I, like many
others, are waiting on these map results to make my decision, as it makes no
sense to me to spend money to clean and gut my slab house if needs to be
raised several feet. The cost to raise it will be within 75% - 85% of
pre-Katrina value. It would make more sense to have it demolished, at no
cost, and, rebuild, than to raise and repair it. If raising is not
required, then cleaning, gutting, repairing is the route to follow.

Thanks,

Charlie Fos
