Jr - MRGO must GO,
 
Yes, Jr was all for closing the MRGO until he presented a proposal at a
council meeting to install gates along the MRGO. The St. Bernard Sportsmen's
League officially wrote correspondence to the St. Bernard Parish Council
requesting that the council reconsider his proposal and to go with the
original plan to close the waterway.
Can't actually say what changed his mind.
 
As usual all of this which was previously stated on this digest fell on deaf
ears until Katrina.  Now more and more residents realize the impact that
this outlet had on our survival. Yes of course the levees also had impact
which was also addressed  by the past president of the SBSL at many council
meetings over the years.
