[StBernard] Gov. Boasso? [private]

Jim,

Opps! Didn't see the [private] flag.

But, so everyone knows, yes I know Walter personally.

I worked for Boasso America about twelve years ago and only left because I
was young and stupid.

I did a little bit of campaign work for Walter's Senate campaign and was a
member of his Senate Advisory Committee. A number of people on this list
are on it because we met through the Advisory Committee.

Although I have more personal experience with other members of Walter's
family than with him, I can say they are all cut from the same cloth.
Everyone of them is hard-working and wouldn't try to steer anyone in the
wrong way. Walter is no different.

Since he has been in office these past two years, I don't have any regrets
about voting for him, even though I haven't agreed with his position on all
issues (I still think he was dead wrong on the minimum price for gas
policy).

If he runs for Governor, I wouldn't hesitate voting for him. He will truly
put the state ahead of himself. Hell, he may finally end up with the clout
to get some of his ideas for pushing St. Bernard forward over the road
blocks that people keep throwing in front of him.

As for temperament, I don't doubt he has it. I think I've only met one
other person that is calmer than Walter.

Westley, have u had any dealings with Boasso on an individual level?

I could see myself pulling the "R" lever (or touch pad) for the guy. I just
wonder if he's got the temperment for the job.

Jim

This week, at Politics with a Punch, at Le Chat Noir Theater in New
Orleans
one of the panelists was State Senator Walter Boasso (R-Arabi). In a
Q and A
with audience members, Boasso hinted that he was interested in
running for
Governor next year. This confirms reports that have been circulating
for
weeks that Boasso is looking into the race.
