"The Recovery of Kobe:
Lessons for New Orleans

Two of Japan's foremost experts on disaster recovery, Drs. Haruo Hayashi and
Shigeo Tatsuki, will speak at the Port of New Orleans on March 22 about
their experiences after the 1995 Kobe earthquake. Their lectures will
provide citizens of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast an opportunity to gain
insights from Kobe's recovery.

The Port of New Orleans is located at 1350 Port of New Orleans Place. The
doors open at 5:00 p.m., and the presentations will be from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30
p.m. The event is free and open to the public, though seating is limited.

This presentation is sponsored by the World Affairs Council of New Orleans,
the Port of New Orleans, the Japan Foundation Center for Global Partnership,
New York, and the Consulate-General of Japan in New Orleans.
