The writer seems to have a gift of stretching the truth.  To the best of my
knowledge, St. Bernard is not a "low income community" as the writer
indicates.  I also have no idea where he/she got the impression that Murphy
was offering $10,000, along with an additional $25,000 if the resident
agreed not to sue,  Of course if you settled you gave up your right to sue -
that is the purpose of a settlement.  The actual settlement, for those that
chose to take it, was $x per foot and $2500 for each member of the
household, along with testing of the soil and cleaning of the exterior of
the home, among other items.  Did the writer visit us to assist in the
recovery effort or to gain additional experience in writing fiction?
