Just looking back over the elections I have been able to vote in, it seems
there were quite a number of them where people voted not so much for the
best candidate but for the lesser of two evils.  Anyone remember bumper
stickers that read "Vote for the crook, it's important"?

Maybe we just don't have enough decent people who want to get involved in
politics.

I don't believe for one second the same people getting into office, years
after years, was sheer coincidence. The last election for sherriff, made me
disagree even more...if people can be bought, why can't votes? It would be
nice if we were able to vote in good people, a fresh slate, I don't see it
happening in my lifetime though, especially after all this. It's hopeless.
