Am I the only person not disappointed with what Extreme Home Makeover did as
a series... They went to Florida and did a one hour show, went to
Mississippi and did a one hour show and came to Louisiana and did not ONE
but TWO shows... one on St. Bernard/New Orleans and the other on Plaquemines
Parish which I am not sure has aired to date.  
 
They really tried to push to show everything they could to the public at
large to show them the bigger picture... so what if was not exactly the
lines by which we call St. Bernard... at least they came and helped... 
 
I personally worked with this group and I know how small their budget is and
what they are trying to accomplish... they are trying to send out a message
to all of America to come down and help out... and personally if nothing
else was in the broadcast but the reasons why we need help and how massive
the damage was... this is the type of thing and show to get
churches/missionary groups and charities involved in helping us to
rebuild... so instead of complaining ... why not send them ideas for their
next show down here... And if you come up with a good enough one... they

but please don't be critics before sending in your own ideas... at least
they came... they left our community a little better for our children who
can go and enjoy the playground and they left much footage on their website
if anyone wishes to see more information.  
 
And they left us with an HP Photo restoration processing center!!
 
What more can you ask for?  
 
It is a TV show based upon going into a community and helping in the ways
they know how?  
 
If you can think of something better email a network or two and pitch an
idea to a network... I know I have... I emailed EHMO and spoke with them and
helped them right into St. Bernard by getting them in touch with the right
people in St. Bernard, I also helped with a BBC show which was put together
after the hurricane and featured much of St. Bernard to all of the UK... and
has Syndication worldwide.  They were kind enough to send me a DVD of the
show and I was very pleased for the coverage of St. Bernard and esp the
Arabi area and the Shell Beach Area but they also covered New Orleans.  
 
But at this point we cannot criticize... only come up with more ideas and
more ways to create exposure for our Parish! 
 
There were hundred of people who came out to help EHMO with the building of
the Park and they did such a great job... we should be praising and thankful
we can pull together for a project for our community because it will take
much much more than just one project to get our community back!
 
This is just a nice start of many that thousands of people have been working
on from mucking out homes to helping with food lines to helping out in
anyway you know how... this is a community effort.  Not a time to complain!
