[StBernard] LRA Update/FOR YOUR INFORMATION

Are there or shouldn't there be a "live streaming" of these meetings to the
large majority of populace who are transplanted in 26 other countries to see
what's happening in their "homeland"?

Geez, even though the parish is still behind considerably on technology, the
state of Louisiana should realize that not everyone is yet home, considering
home in the state again or sitting on the fence because little efforts are
expended to present us with live feeds from the actual meetings. We need a
camera in the meeting rooms and live action to us (and recordable for
playbacks at our convenience).

If this has already been done, I'm not privy on the site that shows it.

Thanks..

Westley,

This would be a great meeting for the residents to show up for in force to
show the importance of the need for people to keep their insurance benefits
as part of the housing assistance and to fight the arbitrary adoption of the
Advisory Base Flood Elevations. It would not be inappropriate for signs to
be held since there is no public comment portion of this meeting. Civil but
clear communication is important here- we are literally fighting for the
opportunity to rebuild our parish.

Thanks for helping to spread the word.

Good luck and God Bless,
Craig

Louisiana Recovery Authority Board to Vote on Housing Plan Wednesday

Special meeting will address 'The Road Home' Housing plan, resolution on
Healthcare Emergency Preparedness

BATON ROUGE, La. -- The Louisiana Recovery Authority Board of Directors will
meet from 1-4 p.m. Wednesday, April 26 on the campus of the Baton Rouge
Community College to consider The Road Home Housing Plan.

What: LRA Board special meeting

When: 1-4 p.m., Wednesday, April 26

Where: Baton Rouge Community College, Louisiana Board Room, 5310
Florida Boulevard Baton Rouge, LA 70806

Directions can be found at
http://www.brcc.cc.la.us/brcc/locations.php
<http://www.brcc.cc.la.us/brcc/locations.php> .

The public comment period on The Road Home ended on April 17, and staff
members of the LRA and the Office of Community Development have been
reviewing the comments and determining how to incorporate them into the
plan. The homeowner assistance plan was created in response to the
devastation caused by hurricanes Katrina and Rita as a way to help restore
people's home equity. It also contains a rental reinvestment component to
develop affordable rental housing.

The LRA must approve the plan before the Legislature can vote on it. Once it
wins Legislative approval, it must go to the U.S. Department of Housing and
Urban Development for final approval and funding. Information about the plan
can be found at http://www.louisianarebuilds.info .

The LRA will also consider emergency preparedness recommendations of the
Public Health and Health Care Task Force.

Meeting agendas will be posted on the LRA website (www.lra.louisiana.gov
<http://www.lra.louisiana.gov> ) as soon as they are available. All LRA
meetings are open to the public.
