David,

As long as the initial gutting request is in, the property will be left
alone at least during the initial review. The follow up phase will coincide
with the anticipated progress for a more clear direction of the recovery.

Good luck and God Bless,
Craig

Craig,
You spoke of homeowners making known their intentions regarding their
property. If homeowners have submitted the Debris and Hazard Removal forms
but the debris and hazardous materials are still on the property, will the
responsibility fall back on the owners?
There may be broken doors and/or windows on the property not caused by
Katrina or rescuers, but by vandals. There are incidences of doors being
stolen from homes. Not everyone can make regular trips to the parish to
check on the condition of their homes.
I don't like the idea of people like Junior Rodriguez and others making
decisions about our homes which may negatively impact the rest of our lives.
I know there must be laws regarding reasonable care of one's property. But
Nostradamus didn't write these laws so I'm sure there is no reference to
Katrina.
Thanks,
David Jochum
