I live up here in N.E.Texas in the woods and on a small lake. I have also
made a "pact" with my poisonous slithering neighbors that if they will stay
out of my yard in the summertime, I will stay out of their woods. However,
some don't listen so I also have a .22 pistol with hollow point bullets and
a very sharp shovel. But I have also ringed my yard with powdered sulfur
and that keeps snakes out because they don't like the taste or smell. And
yes, your yard may smell like Port Sulfur for awhile but it seems to work.
However, it tends to scortch the ground it sits on, remember this is "fire
and brimstone" so don't put it near any plant you may want to save - if you
have any left that is. I buy my sulfur in large sacks from feed stores.
There may be feed stores over on the north shore or Miss. in the more rural
areas. Good luck yall!
