Gaby,

The word has been out there for some time. Keep in mind that we are
competing with a lot of other communities. The region is considered the
world's largest mission field right now.

God Bless,
Craig

**Craig, how much effort has been placed in appealing to churches, youth
groups, organizations, etc. in getting "volunteers" to continue efforts

Check www.ldr.org (ldr stands here for Lutheran Disaster Response)
and
http://www.lsss.org/mediareleases/media06_hurricanekurtupdate0331.htm

I know there are more groups such as Samaritan Purse etc that continue to
come. Lutheran Disaster Response is committed for EIGHT years to keep the
volunteers coming. There is much communication and propaganda, to entice
more volunteers to come and possibly other avenues of helping.

If you have any friends or family up north where the Lutherans are MUCH more
numerous than here, ask them to check with their local congregations if they
considered arranging for a group.
There are packages, videos, books and articles, presentations at youth
gatherings and synod assemblies, newsletters and whatnot ways to pass on
that we still need help down here.
In fact, they changed my mind about those bus tours. Most groups work a
number of days, get a day for 'fun and relaxation', and a tour of the area,
taking lots of pics, talking to people and bringing the stories back to get
more to come> All say it is a 'must see for yourself' disaster.
