Parish's Long-Term Recovery Committee wants to hear from other non-profit
and church groups; Community Health Day is Tuesday, June 20, at the St.
Bernard Health Center in Chalmette; second of three free block parties to be
held Saturday, June 17, at Disaster Relief Center

St. Bernard Parish's Long-Term Recovery Committee, which meets weekly to
discuss the needs and recovery of residents in the parish, is inviting all
non-profit or church groups working in St. Bernard to meet with them and
share information about their organization providing services.
The committee, consisting of various non-profit and faith-based
organizations working within the parish, was formerly known as the parish's
Unmet Needs Committee but recently changed its name to reflect its mission
of aiding in long-term recovery. The group meets every Thursday from 1 p.m.
to 2:30 p.m. in the rectory of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church,
2320 Paris Road in Chalmette.
The group's members said they want an opportunity to meet other
organizations that are all working toward the recovery of St. Bernard Parish
and its residents.
