Wendy,

I am assuming the trailer is not a FEMA trailer. That means it is just a
matter of an electrician doing whatever repair or prep work is needed and
then request the permit for electricity. Something to consider is that
there is an option that the electrician can prepare a temporary box at the
house so there is less duplicate work. First step is to get an electrician
to the house.

Good luck and God Bless,
Craig

Hi guys,

Need some help. I have been trying to do this by phone with out a lot
of help. I am trying to get a temp pole at my home. It would need to be able
to handle a camper trailer along with being able to run an extension into
the house. I have my account set up with entergy, no problem there. My
problem comes in that the process to get the pole through a electrician is
not as clear. I have been told that engineers from the parish have to come
in and declare your home safe for rebuilding before an electrician can get a
pole. The the electrician who is doing my work has to apply for this permit
so I can get a pole, but we haven't gotten that far yet- I'm going in to
begin cleaning the yard out, sanding the studs, and putting doors and
windows in, not the rewiring that may not happen for a few weeks or months
depending on costs and the time it will take to get windows and doors up.
Then I was told I had to pay an engineer atleast $200 to come in and inspect
my home before I start or can get my permit for anything. My understanding
is that the parish engineers went through our neighborhood in November and
what they told my neighbor was that they couldn't believe how well the
houses in the area did considering. None in the area have been comdemned as
of yet. I live at 2704 Deer Creek Dr. in Violet. Not being in the day to day
mix of who and what have to stamp what paper to get something done have left
me a black hole of sorts. AND, when most of neighbors got their poles back
in November the rules were different. The rules have changed since then, so
I don't know what to do or who to ask. Any input is great from anyone.
Thanks as always,

Wendy Hall
