C,

All you have to do is inform the office of community development 278-4310-
it is just meant to get the word out to those who have done nothing- for
those who have done the things on their own (which is good) the office just
needs the information so that some of the abandoned homes do not fall
through the cracks.

Sorry if this caused you any problems.

Good luck and God Bless,
Craig

Why did we receive four phone calls from the parish development office
asking what were we doing with our home? Why did we sign papers telling the
parish we were gutting and maintaining our property? After gutting our home,
cleaning, and maintaining the home since October...we find our home listed
on the blighted list. My understanding is that if you did not sign up for
"free" services and or get a permit (of which we did not) due to the fact
that we have just recently received our structural engineer report, after
waiting many, many months to get as much as a return phone call from someone
to do that job! After following the "rules" we find our home on the blighted
list. Sorry we didn't sign-up for free services as did a particular school
in Brathwaite! Having work done for free indeed!
WE felt we were doing a good thing by paying our way and thus letting those
in real need have the free services. Also, it was best that our home not sit
and rot! We paid a great deal to have this done in earlier in this process.

This is one of the reasons why some people do not care to return to St.
Bernard Parish! Business like this is not a good representation of the
parish.I for one am not happy about the way this was handled.

Get off of your duffs send our representatives out into the neighborhoods to
see what is going on!

C.
