Biloxi Marsh Lands Corp., part of the largest land owning group in St.
Bernard Parish, has established a $150,000 fund to help the parish, will
donate money on Aug. 24 and is challenging other businesses to donate.

The Biloxi Marsh Disaster Relief Fund Corp. was initially funded at $150,000
with a commitment to match 50 percent of any amount donated to the fund by
third parties up to a total of $150,000, meaning the total funding
commitment by Biloxi Marsh Lands would be $300,000.

Biloxi Marsh Lands, along with its sister company, Lake Eugenie Land &
Development Inc. own about 150,000 acres of the Biloxi Marsh complex, making
them the largest land owner in St. Bernard.

Also, the fund's board of directors has decided to donate $25,000 to parish
government to assist in the renovations of the Willie Smith School in
Violet, where volunteers gutting homes in the parish have been housed since
June 1.

"Our initial goal is to raise $300,000 as soon as possible to build up our
treasury allowing the fund to make additional grants to needy parties,
Biloxi Marsh Lands President and CEO William Rudolf said in a letter to
parish officials.
Biloxi Marsh Lands intends to present a donation to the parish on Aug. 24
for the Willie Smith School operation, Rudolf said.

St. Bernard Parish President Henry "Junior'' Rodriguez said he is grateful
that businesses such as Biloxi Marsh Lands want to help St. Bernard.
