Boasso won't rule out a run for governor
"I'm going to vote for you for governor," a member of the Capital City
Kiwanis blurted out to state Sen. Walter Boasso on Wednesday after he
finished one of his many speeches in favor of his proposed constitutional
amendment to revamp levee boards.

"I've heard it many times," Boasso, R-Arabi, said when asked about the
remark.

Boasso has gained some fame for taking on issues such as levee reform during
his first term in the Legislature.

"I'm flattered," he said. "I'm not going to rule out anything at this time.
But right now I'm trying to be the best senator I possibly can."
