My dishwasher had as much muck in it as the rest of the house, however, I know I closed it before I left, but not sure if I locked it. That could be the difference.

Also, I had a friend who had some clothes stored in the plastic bags that you suck the air out with your vacuum cleaner and everything in them was perfect. I think she bought them from either QVC or HSN.

Here is our funny story of all. My granddaughter had several things, such as trophies, awards, etc. from school and dancing, and her mom and dad told the children that they had to pick out the things that were most important as there would be 5 of them taking things between 2 cars and there was only limited room. The first day we went back to their house, my daughter was insistent that we had to get into my granddaughter's bedroom, and find some bags my granddaughter had put her important things in. When she told us they were in her bottom dresser drawer, we felt that it was hopeless. When we got into the room thru the window, the only way we could get to the drawer was her dad broke it open with a crow bar. When we saw the bags, they were all Wal Mart bags, which she had closed and knotted very tightly with the tops. They passed them to me as I was the one standing outside the window. When I saw them I felt so bad, and thought "poor baby, she thought this would save her things". Well, as I started to open each one, everything was clean and dry as a bone, and everything was saved.

Moral of story, next time use Wal Mart bags.
