What is being referred to as a Katrina permit is a permit that has been
developed that has been automatically been issued to all residents who were
eligible for one- if you go to the sbpg.net site there is a link to this
permit that you can fill in and then print out-
 
if you do not qualify for the permit on-line you will get a message that
requires you to come into the community development office.
 
this permit does not take the place of the electrical permit, but does serve
as additional documentation of the repair process.  it was designed as
another way to assist residents in accessing some form of documentation that
is being required by LRA
 
the effective date is the date the permit was assigned so an individual can
print it out anytime he/she wants and it does not change the effective date.
