I was hoping someone 'from here' would enjoy Sam's writings.  I have
forwarded your comments too her.  She didn't know I posted the excerpts.
With so much negative stuff in St. Bernard, it's good to have something
positive.  And she'd definitely done some positive things with her writing.
She has won the Scholastic Press Mel Williams Award for her Hurricane
Journal as well as having been 'made a resolution!"
Senator Boasso learned of her writings and was so moved that he recognized
her as Senate Resolution 127!  Go St. Bernard!  The TATTO has her entire
journal if you are interested.  I guess I could be a little predjudiced but
I'm awfully proud of her.  The entry you read is her last one.  She will
probably write some other articles, but I wanted her to see what a gift she
has.  God has truly blessed her.
