Dear Members,

Significant new developments on Fair Revenue Share for Louisiana The biggest
news is the White House is interested in adding provisions to the current
Senate bill and getting the bill passed this Congress. The White House also
seems open to addressing the 1990's leases (where royalties were never
collected) and using those proceeds to compensate states like Louisiana with
existing leases.

As a direct result of our grassroots campaign effort, Congress and the White
House now understands the critical importance of passing a revenue sharing
bill this Congress. Today Representative Bobby Jindal issued this statement:

"The voice of Levees.Org members over the past year has been a
powerful force in helping members of Congress and the White House see the
importance of providing South Louisiana with Category 5 hurricane protection
and giving Louisiana a share of offshore energy royalties so that Louisiana
can begin to rebuild its coast." . . . . . . --Congressman Bobby Jindal

Anniversary observance of Hurricane Rita In observance of the Anniversary of
Hurricane Rita, Levees.Org is encouraging our members to sign a petition to
the President of the United States, the Secretary of Homeland Security, the
Director of FEMA, the Army Corps of Engineers and Members of Congress. This
petition urges better preparedness for natural disasters.

Levees.Org is a non partisan non sectarian grassroots group. We urge you to
sign this petition authored by Senator Mary Landrieu because we feel its
message is consistent with our goals. Please click here
