The St. Bernard Parish Council has voted to stop holding a night meeting
each month, deciding that during the parish's period of recovery of
infrastructure and facilities the regular monthly meetings on both the 1st
and 3rd Tuesday will begin at 11 a.m.

The emergency ordinance, adopted by a 5 to 2 vote, is effective with the
Oct. 3 meeting. Meetings are held in the Council office behind the parish
government building in Chalmette.

For several months the Council has been holding a meeting at 7:01 p.m. on
the third Tuesday but the new ordinance ends that indefinitely.

Of course, during this period of recovery, this action is a hinderance to
the participation of the citizens of the parish in the parish's recovery.
