the GNOFHAC made no attempts to contact the council, attend any meetings, speak to any council members, or any other contact.  The goal of the GNOFHAC is clearly to incite dissent and to misrepresent the information that is part of the ordinance and the motivation of such.  
 
I hope you understand the agenda of this organization and their use of half truths, spin, and outdated information to accomplish their mission to disrupt the orderly recovery of St. Bernard.
 
The council members have committed to seeing that property integrity and the re-establishment of owner occupancy remains the norm and not the exception and that people who have invested in the return of the parish will not have their property values pulled from under them by developers who are in the business of a quick profit and not concerned about the long term interest in the recovery and redevelopment of the parish.
 
By the way, the GNOFHAC failed to mention that there are about 850 rental units already approved and hundreds more that are under consideration.
 
The basic HUD mission and all housing strategies have been and continue to emphasize home ownership and support a move away from dense clusters of poverty and rental units.
