	Forty-five years of honoring the outstanding leaders in St. Bernard
Parish will resume on October 15, 2006 when the St. Bernard Business and
Professional Women's Club hosts its banquet at Chalmette High School gym,
1100 E. Judge Perez Drive.  Breaking with tradition, however, the banquet
will be held on a Sunday afternoon and will kick-off National Business
Women's Week 2006.

	Honorees for 2006-2007 are attorney Walter J. Leger, Jr. and St.
Bernard School Superintendent Doris Voitier have been selected 2006-07 Man
and Woman of the Year, respectively, by the members of the St. Bernard
Business and Professional Women's Club. They will be honored along with the
2005-06 Man and Woman of the Year businessman Ron Chapman and realtor Dianne
Henrie. Although BPW named Chapman and Henrie in August 2005, due to the
hurricane, the club was unable to host a banquet in their honor until now.

Because the members wanted to hold the celebration in St. Bernard Parish,
the event will be held at the local high school. The social will begin at 1
p.m. and the luncheon program will start at 2 p.m. Tickets are available at
Balli Gallery adjacent to All About Me, at 1201 East Judge Perez Drive.  The
cost is $25 per person with tables of 8 to 10 available.  Tickets can be
purchased in advance at Balli Gallery only by check payble to St. Bernard
BPW.  Anyone unable to get tickets by the deadline of  6 p.m. Thursday,
October 12 can contact Deborah Keller at  ddk120757 at aol.com or 504-473-3470
to make alternate arrangements. The store hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Tuesday thru Saturday.  No tickets will be sold at the door.
