Nancy:

Thanks for responding - we received our taxes on (2) houses yesterday. We
were aware 2005 was exempt; they are sending out 2006 tax notices now due
before Dec. 31 2006.  Be looking for yours, it will probably come soon.  We
still own both houses and are trying to sell both.  

We are now living in Jeff Parish.  We just had to pay taxes on our new/old
home here; so one never really gets ahead.  We had to pay 3 times more for
this house than we did in Chalmette.  We had 3900 sq.ft on Jean Lafitte, now
we have 2000. We lived at 2112 Jean Lafitte Pkwy, Buccaneer Villa South, the
other on Pirate Drive (where Jay's brother lived who passed away in June
right before Katrina).  Can't believe how other people prey on those who are
down to make the almighty dollar. We are in our 70's and are still cleaning
up, unbelievable.  ]

I keep seeing your name on this site.  Don't know how old you are, but Jay
Mutz talked about "Sinopoli" very often - connected with Carnival/Mardi
Gras.

i do not guess you have to go if you went to there office in person.  i did
not so i had to call.  but, you will probably be 'exempt' for 2005 which is
why you haven't received anything in the mail.  you will be taxed for 2006
and will receive a bill next year (if you still own your house there).  i
do, but am trying to sell it.  we have also relocated to mandeville.  we
bought a home last november.  the insurance problem is only going to get
worse, which is really scary.
