[StBernard] Craig Taffaro Jr. to hold meeting with residents of his district

St. Bernard Parish District D Council member Craig Taffaro Jr. will hold a
meeting with residents of his district at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2 in
the Parish Council office to discuss current issues of concern.

"This will be a general update meeting'' for residents to voice problems and
hear about what is being done, Taffaro said.

"This is to make sure we are keeping up with the major concerns of different
areas'' of his district, he said.

Issues such as abandoned housing,, overgrown lawns at residences and an
update on what can be done about getting more lighting on streets will
likely be some of the topics of discussion, Taffaro said.

He said he has been meeting with officials of Entergy about street lights.

Taffaro also is proposing an emergency ordinance to authorize a cooperative
endeavor agreement between parish government's Public Works Department and
Entergy to provide immediate lighting for areas in which residents are now
living and subsequently for areas where residents are actively
rebuilding/repairing their homes.

The lighting situation could be discussed again at the next Parish Council
meeting on Dec. 5, Taffaro said.
