[StBernard] Who lives where?

There is no augument, John, as to where Craig and any public servant lives
IN ST. BERNARD PARISH. The mindset of one who has moved out of the community
he/she served is as such: "I enjoy living in another community nearby to St.
Bernard Parish. I can commute back in forth within an hour's drive, earn a
living and when I'm done for the day, return to my humbled abode, where I
can spend my paycheck, feel secure in my surrounds, safer from crime, closer
to great malls, schools, people, and cheaper insurances without the feeling
that I'm in Hell. To some, that's the mindset. Whether it's right or wrong
is not at issue.

Some communities have chosen these rules to keep the taxes of expenditures
withing the local community. Communities like New Orleans has suffered with
a lose-lose situation. They lost when people lived outside their work
community, then lost again when lesser-qualified, inept employees are in
place (example: police force).

Therefore, a thin-line exists between devotion to support and how one choses
to spend his/her days of after-hours from the sense of employment venue.

Everyone has their opinion, so I might as well give mine. Where Craig
Taffaro lives is none of my business and if he is fortunate enough after all
this time to be able to move his family into a home rather than a FEMA
trailer, then he owes it to his family to do so. I don't know of many
people other than Craig and Westley who have put forth an amazing effort to
keep us informed, to investigate the issues we surface, and balance long
work days (and nights) with family obligations. If Craig were to walk off
the job today, how would we benefit? In NORMAL times, I would expect
elected officials to live in the parishes/wards they serve, but these are
not normal times. As long as their voting status remains with a St. Bernard
address, there is no violation of law or ethics.

I don't know anyone who has shown more of a vested interest in the
well-being of St. Bernard than Craig Taffaro, and I thank him for his
efforts.
