I understand that due to the hurricane, the elected officials may not be
able to reside in the parish at this time. However, I strongly feel that
their intentions should be to reside in the parish as soon as feasible and
not purchase a home somewhere else but retain a gutted house just to say
they have a residence here. Even though their heart may be in St. Bernard,
they would naturally be more concerned with the events of their new parish
than their old one.
