Police warn man may be dangerous

A man considered armed and dangerous was being sought by St. Bernard Parish
sheriff's deputies after he repeatedly stabbed a co-worker with a box cutter
after an argument, police said.

Maj. John Doran, chief of detectives at the Sheriff's Office, said
authorities have issued an arrest warrant for 31-year-old Dilver A. Ramos.

Ramos and the victim, who was not identified, were living in a travel
trailer outside a flood-damaged home they were hired to repair in the 2200
block of Marietta Street in Chalmette, Doran said.

Doran said the two men got into an argument over a radio Saturday morning,
and after the victim went to sleep, Ramos began cutting man several times,
in some instances to the bone. The victim was treated at Tulane Medical
Hospital.

Doran said Ramos was charged with aggravated battery with a weapon in a
similar incident in August.

Doran said Saturday's incident was considered more serious because he "tried
to kill this guy."

"This guy is dangerous," Doran said. "We need to get him off the street."
