[StBernard] More than 22, 000 undecided on accepting The Road Home offer

BATON ROUGE - ICF International is avaeraging just 7.5 award calculations
per week after its first 13 weeks of administering The Road Home program.

Last week, 10 Road Home payouts were calculated bringoing the total of Road
Home settlements with homeowners to 97.

Officials report interviews have been held or scheduled with 61,295 eligible
homeowners affected by hurricanes Katrina or Rita. An estimated 123,000 can
apply for up to $150,000 in compensation to help rebuild or relocate.

A total of 90,783 homeowners have applied so ICF hasn't managed to close on
a fraction of the payouts still awaited. The average award so far is
$52,105.

A total of 22,588 homeowners now have the option of choosing to accept The
Road Home payout but just 97 have done so. The total of benefits calculated
is $1.68 billion, which has doubled in the last two weeks.
