The Hope Monstrance will visit Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church in January.

The monstrance, which was rescued from Hurricane Katrina, refurbished and
blessed in Rome by Pope Benedict XVI, has been traveling throughout the
Archdiocese of New Orleans and has special blessings associated with it.

Archbishop Alfred Hughes will lead the Holy Hour of Adoration before the
monstrance with the Blessed Sacrament Jan. 13 at 2:30 p.m. in the church,
2320 Paris Road, Chalmette.

Hughes also will celebrate Mass at 4 p.m.

In conjunction with this event, the Office of Religious Education will
sponsor and host a teaching on the importance of the Sacrament of the
Eucharist Jan. 4 at 7 p.m. at Prompt Succor church.

Both events are open to the public.

For information, call Brenda Tromatore, director of religious education, at
(601) 749-2191 or the Prompt Succor rectory at (504) 271-3441.
