OK Parish President and Council Members! What's wrong with this picture???
Why is St. Bernard parish not moving forward with the adoption of this
guideline??? Are we that rich that we don't want money for a better comback
or are we that stupid? Why not just come out and say we don't want our
people back. But that's right - with each passing day that this is not
adopted we send a very clear message. My only hope is that come election
time all parish residents remember just how we were WELCOMED BACK with open
arms (and open pockets) and let our few returning residents make some really
much needed changes in our leadership. JUST VENTING! I wish this could
have put before a vote of all residents. This decision is clearly one of
the top reasons why many, many parish residents have not returned. As I
understand it if the Parish doesn't adopt these guidelines, insurance will
continue to escalate at a much higher rate than normal (if there is such a
thing as normal???).

On another matter - do we really need to give Torres a contract for trash
pick up and new cans? Why not have the few residents in the parish continue
to put their trash out as they have been doing? Would we save money by
doing that?? You may not be aware of it but elderly residents have a
terrible time dealing with using a walker and pushing out one of those large
green (brown, blue, whatever color they may be) out to the curb. In days
gone by a neighbor may have offered to help them but let's face it - there
may not be a neighbor close by. Come on - haven't we spent enough money on
"trash" projects already!!!!

One other thing - let me get this right. The parish has opted to get back
into the Murphy Class Action - now if memory serves me right, didn't Murphy
donate quite a sum of money just after Katrina - something like $5 Million
for schools and clean-up? Is this how we treat the hand that feeds us? Oh
sure - let's just bite it off completely!

KHAKI
