"NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A federal judge in New Orleans has refused to throw out
a lawsuit against the Army Corps of Engineers alleging that a controversial
navigation channel caused catastrophic flooding during Hurricane Katrina.

U.S. District Judge Stanwood Duval rejected government arguments that the
Corps and the federal government are immune from legal claims that that the
Mississippi River-Gulf Outlet caused catastrophic damage to the Lower 9th
Ward, eastern New Orleans and St. Bernard Parish due to defects that the
Corps had known about for decades.'

---------Can someone in a knowledgeable/legal sense/experience care to
explain what this means to homeowners who filed suit against MRGO/Corps of
Engineers in 2006? Is the lawsuit many of us entered by class action (Jerald
Andry/Torres) just to close the MRGO or to seek awards from Corps of
Engineers for killing our future and friends with the non-compliance to fix
what was broken an/or both? Thanks, -- mj
