"This is directed to John Scurich. If the "LRA accepted and approved the
value he determined on homes", did these homeowners give the LRA his
certified appraisal at the time they met with their advisor, or did they
wait to submit the certified appraisal after the LRA determined what they
thought the pre-Katrina value of their home was? I have had people tell me
not to give my certified appraisal to the advisor at the first meeting, but
rather to wait to see what value was given to my home by the LRA. --pck"

****PCK, if I may speak in my own experience...

When I was interviewed on Sept. 25, I included my appraisal from John in
which they made duplicates and nothing else was said (as my appraisal was
elevated to what St. Bernard's Assessment listed the property.

When I received the final letter from the Road Home people, my post-Katrina
appraisal was not included. I had to mention that I had an appraisal in the
packet they had of mine from the interview. Strangely, it was appraised at
only $4000 below John's, but even at that, I reminded them when they called
me about the appraisal. Sheesh, they didn't realize it. I told them I'd
included the $4000 in my appeal AFTER I get my initial payment, so not to
delay the payout.

When I gather with the "closure team" (2009?), <G> I'll bring it up to get
their next reaction. We'll see.
