Louisiana received $10 million in HIS license fees software to benefit healthcare facilities impacted by Hurricanes Katrina & Rita

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - IntraNexus Inc., a leading provider of healthcare information system (HIS) solutions, announced today it is donating an unprecedented $10 million in SAPPHIRE® healthcare information system (HIS) licensing fees to facilities impacted by hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

"Revitalizing Louisiana's healthcare system is one of our top priorities and we welcome the support of innovative companies like IntraNexus," Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco said. "Hurricanes Rita and Katrina re-enforced the urgent need for information systems that streamline healthcare records. Today, Louisiana is a national leader in establishing portable health information records. We are grateful for the generosity of the good people of IntraNexus and enthusiastic about the opportunity to begin rebuilding and improving our healthcare facilities with a Web-based healthcare information system like SAPPHIRE."

As IntraNexus enters its 15th successful year in the industry, the company is taking an opportunity to help restore and improve healthcare in the most devastated areas in Louisiana and Mississippi. Many of the IntraNexus management and staff have been affected by the hurricanes and their aftermath, either personally, or through family and friends. IntraNexus President and CEO J. Richard O'Pry stated, "Because of our years of experience working with community hospitals, IntraNexus understands the level of commitment required to rebuild this healthcare system. We are humbled to be in a position to make this gesture and hope it has a positive impact on the patients and clinicians of the Gulf Coast region."

Additionally, IntraNexus will donate the furniture used in their booth at the upcoming Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference to the Katrina victims through the St. Bernard Project. "We are very happy to accept this thoughtful donation on behalf of the people we're assisting," stated St. Bernard co-founder Liz McCartney. "There are several families who will benefit from this, and we appreciate IntraNexus offering to help us in restoring their homes and their lives." The HIMSS 2007 Conference continues from February 26th through March 1st.
