the canal issue has been one of the most ludicrous issues that has been
dealt with-  the funding for this has been locked up in a classic pass the
buck dispute for the last seventeen months-  Bob Turner with Lake Borgne and
Councilman Melerine has been pounding on this issue and has only gotten
minimal cooperation but it is not over.
 
there has been some movement, but not enough.
