DMV mobile unit in Chalmette this week

The state Department of Motor Vehicles has a mobile unit in Chalmette today
through Friday.

The office hours will be 8 a.m. tol 4 p.m. The unit is set up at the St.
Bernard Port, off St. Bernard Highway.

The mobile office offers a full range of services, including renewal and
duplicate driver's licenses. It's cash or check only for most services.
However, renewal and duplications of Class D and E driver's licenses,
identification cards and mobility impaired hang tags must be paid for with
cash, according to a news release on the St. Bernard Parish government
website.
