URGENT! Take time to make governmental 
LA Ethics 1 (www.LAethics1.com <http://www.laethics1.com>) is a coalition of
more than 40 organizations around Louisiana committed to transforming our
state into a national model for governmental ethics laws and enforcement
over the next 2-3 years. The various reforms proposed would place us among
the top 3-5 states in the U.S. for governmental ethics laws and enforcement.
But ethics reform won't pass unless our legislators know the public supports
it. 

We need your help to be successful with this reform effort. Many of the
bills in the LA Ethics 1 legislative package will be voted on in committee
on Wednesday, May 9th. Please email the legislators in your area by using
our simple website form at
<http://www.laethics1.com/Legislation/ContactLegislator.asp>. The website
will fill in your legislators' names and email addresses based on your home
and business address - and it even includes a draft message - you can make a
difference in less than 1 minute! 

If you have more time, please call the legislator for the district in which
you live and work as well as the legislators on the Governmental Affairs
Committees in the House and Senate. We know that just a few calls on a
single topic gets legislators' attention. Imagine what's possible should
they receive hundreds of calls about ethics reform! 

If you want to make an even bigger difference in this important effort,
consider joining us for Ethics Reform Day at the State Capitol on Wednesday,
May 9th (9am-2pm). We hope to have at least 100 people from around the state
to sit in legislative committee meetings wearing our LA Ethics 1 buttons in
