THE SHRIMPERS CALL IT BAYOU GOLD

The Louisiana seafood community is celebrating the 2007 shrimp season. The
May 15th event in the New Orleans French Quarter is all about BONNE CREVETTE
or GOOD SHRIMP!

OMNI BANK is loading an armored truck with bayou gold for delivery to Chef
Paul Prudhomme and other celebrity chefs, who always feature wild Louisiana
shrimp.

There'll be horse drawn carriages, second-liners, and other fanfare to mark
the occasion. See details below.

ONE CRAB SHED AT A TIME

Pete and Clara Gerica are rebuilding their soft shell crab business with the
assistance of fisheries scientists from coast to coast.

Coastal fisheries councils, in New Orleans for their annual meeting, are
sending a team to the Gerica home in New Orleans East on May 9 to help build
a new soft shell crab facility.

The effort is part of the ongoing LSU Sea Grant Softshell Crab Project.
Contact Amanda.J.Hardesty at gmail.com for more info. See details below.

all to ensure the comeback of what we hold so dear, our culinary and seafood
culture.

Chefs from legendary restaurants, including K-Paul's, Begue's, Broussard's
and Galatoire's, plus amazing trendsetters like Bayona, Bourbon House, Red
Fish Grill, House of Blues, Café Giovanni and the list goes on, are
participating.
