[StBernard] A&P to sell Sav-a-center stores in state

MONTVALE, NJ -- Grocery store operator Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea
Company says it's in negotiations with a number of buyers for its 21
Sav-A-Center stores in Louisiana.


The company said it is "optimistic" that the Sav-A-Center stores can be sold
to a single buyer "committed to the continuity of the business going
forward." 
A&P said selling off the stores is part of its strategy to focus resources
on its core Northeast operations.
