[StBernard] For Craig

Craig: Is there a definite date established where FEMA will no longer pay
for demolitons? If so, how many properties remain on the demo list and will
the demos be completed prior to the FEMA drop-dead date? Also, it is my
understanding that the parish can fine homeowners who leave rebuilding
debris in front of their homes, with no intentions of boxing or hauling the
debris off? Can the parish send crews around the neighborhoods and remove
this debris, fining the homeowners $200? This would incent these people to
handle their debris correctly in the future, and would stop some of this
debris from finding their way into the sewerage system. I have a neighbor
close by who is living in his home with his family, however the cardboard
boxes, sheetrock, etc. have been sitting between the sidewalk and the street
(it is now spilling over into the street), and despite having informed him
that his debris will not be removed, the trash remains as it has been for
close to three months now.

Also, am I overlooking a section on the parish web-site that identifies when
light poles will be replaced, and when those standing, but not working, will
be repaired?

Thanks for responding to my questions.

JFR
