Louisiana ranks 3rd for winning the upcoming First Book distribution of
50,000 new children's books to low-income children.  Voting ends on July
31, 2007.  

To vote for Louisiana, go to http://www2.firstbook.org/whatbook/ In the
white box with the blue border on the left, look for the question, "Where
would you like to send 50,000 new children's books?" and select
"Louisiana" from the drop down menu.  Click "Submit." 

You can vote DAILY!!!!

First Book distributes free new books to applicant organizations that
serve areas with 80% low-income populations.  The books are free but there
is a $0.25/book shipping charge.  However, when organizations pick up the
books at the distribution site, the books are TRULY free. We're not sure
yet exactly where the distribution will be held but all votes will help
children somewhere in Louisiana.
