I have put an item on our committee meeting this week about the use of the
website and the Public Information Officer's role in getting actual useful
information to the public, especially of late.

Seems like you can find everything you ever wanted to know, including every
board the city has, who are on those boards, permits, forms, etc. It's
refreshing, and current. There's no comparison to what St. Bernard is doing
with its website. You can email just about everyone in government you want
to contact, and I bet they actually use it.
A candidate for any office today at any level, who doesn't use the internet
and email, is like a candidate decades ago who thought the telephone was
some new fangled invention that they refused to use when it was available to
the public.
